31st St. Beach

The times we have lived here before, our trips to the lake would usually mean going to Indiana Dunes. We discovered other beaches along the lake here, here and here but always returned to the dunes. Now we have another favorite spot that is closer to us and closer to the city which makes for a really cool shoreline to look at. 31st St. Beach.

The first time we went was just the kids and I.

A park with a splash pad near by for little Sammy that won't go in the water.

The next time we went we brought Dad along.

Getting buried. Millie goes along with anything.

Body surfing. Millie thinks she can swim so the beach is never relaxing these days.

The lifeguard that watched us like a hawk, even when there were a bunch of other people there without their parents in the water. Doesn't he know about Ryan's Water Polo reputation?!

In our family, the girls (along with Ryan) can't stay out of the water and the boys, ie; Sam, is a land lover like his Mom. So he would prefer to drag his head along in the sand, unfortunately I didn't play along. Genes are amazing.

This summer was a short one. Hopefully we can squeeze one more beach trip in before the ground freezes to an icy tundra.
