Beaches n' Stitches

With highs in the 90's and major humidity we made a small beach run this past weekend. It took us a while to get out of the house so we got there pretty late in the day, just in time to see lightning bolts as we neared the beach. At the beach's entrance they told us that the lifeguards weren't letting anyone swim, but we thought we'd take our chances. I should have taken a picture of the beach, a whole bunch of people on the shore and not a soul in the water, it looked like Jaws had just been there. As soon as it was safe to swim everyone charged the lake.

A great day with friends and a great day for people watching.

A storm rolled in, ending our beach day.

We had a crew of foreign exchange students set up right by us, they couldn't get enough of our kids.
It reminded us of our Uncle Coco's Tokyo Disney days.

Playing in the down pour before we make the trek back to the cars.

In other weekend news, on Sunday, Kate took matters into her own hands and tried to take the scissors away from Sam (blade side mind you) and had to go get five stitches. It was one of those moments where it happens so fast that you are still trying to process how it all went down hours later, especially when their parents were within a 10 foot radius from them. Luckily we got that beach day in, because there is no water for two weeks. Life lessons.
