Easter

Easter was pretty low key this year, the day before was Sam's birthday so it ended up being an our little family weekend.

We kicked of the Easter festivities with an Easter egg hunt at the church.

This was Sam's first real Easter egg hunt, he ran in with the other 1 and 2 year olds and grabbed an egg, opened it, and just started eating the candy, oblivious to everything else that was going on. The hunt idea was bring ten eggs, find ten eggs per child. So I was the mom finding eggs for my child. I love being in awesome situations.

The children enjoying their loot.

We did a really cool thing to our children this year, when Kate woke up to find their Easter baskets there weren't any. Instead, there were two eggs with candy in them and a poem that said they will get their baskets after church. Of course, Kate can't read and didn't see the eggs, so she was totally bumming at first. In my defense, we were giving a ride to someone and I knew it would be too crazy to try and fit the baskets in before 9:00 church.

On a less frazzled note, I bought some cute fabric about three years ago and thought that this would be the year I would bring it out and attempt to make an Easter dress and a bow-tie for Sam. It actually worked and neither item fell apart during church, Kate has actually worn her dress a second time. Amazing.

After church. Kate running to find her Easter basket and Sam just running.

Found. Finally.

Since Saturday was busy, we dyed Easter eggs before dinner.

Swimsuit from Grandma Lori and Grandpa Doug. Ryan's family would always get their summer swimsuit in their Easter basket.

Mom and Sam.

Candy and an art project. That's all they need.

Happy Easter!
