St. Patrick's Day River Dying?

This day started off like Christmas morning, one child sounded the bell and woke up the rest of the children at like five in the morning. We had hopes of a little family sleep in and then a relaxing morning followed by a jaunt into the city to enjoy the warm weather and the vibrantly dyed river. From the second we woke up, our day didn't go quite as planned.

We ate lunch, went to check the river and it wasn't green yet and it was a little chilly, so we went to Ryan's work to have an ice cream and watch from above.

We ate the ice cream, had a laugh over Ryan's partner Jimmy's mini me and after waiting for a while, finally let the kids color in a meeting room.

Millie's face describes how Mom's attitude was that day.

After waiting and waiting, we became over it and headed home. You can kind of see the dye way up at the top of the river.

The kids and the outcome of their early morning wake up call.

Post date wrap-up: I first, need to stop hyping things up, that is what creates these excitement filled early riser mornings. Second, we should have just walked further down the river to where it was green but I was positive it would travel down to where we were and we wouldn't have to get caught up in all the crazy crowds. Here is proof of my logic. Well actually, I just looked at the link and we did have to walk closer but whatever. I think I was just a bad attitude Mom that day. There is always next year. :)
