Trunk or Treat

It ended up this year that both kids were food items. Kate saw a cupcake costume at Old Navy and was sold on the idea. With Sam, we were having harder luck trying to find something for him. I ended up sticking with the Old Navy route since they have been good to me in the past and ask a sales associate to put some costumes in his size on hold and I would come down and figure it out. Long story way short, I ended up getting the hamburger mostly for the fact that Sam calls it a Hanga-burger. When I got up to the check out, the cashier told me it was .87 cents. Really?! I totally scored and I didn't even know it until I checked out.

Anyway, on Friday night our church had it's Trunk or Treat party and these pictures I took before it. Last year I didn't take time to get pictures of them before we went out and it ended up being melt down city by the time we got around to them. So this year I was prepared.

I was thinking about going as a chef to go along with the whole food thing but something better came to mind and I ended up being a lunch lady. This was the only picture I had of my food and I and it's from Ryan's Instagram and I have a weird smile. But you get the idea, and I was wrestling a hanga-burger that had given up on the night. He was over it way before the candy was handed out, but oddly enough, he was in a better mood when he got some candy in his system.

Inspiration here:

And if you are wondering, Ryan went as Steve Zissou from the movie Life Aquatic but no one really got it. We thought about it later and he should have been either sloppy joe or Adam Sandler. Afterall, I guess he got that a lot on his mission.

And don't ask about how much candy Kate has left after two days. Portion control is not a strength in our family.

It was a fun and exhausting night.
