We went up into the canyon this weekend to check out the fall colors. I always think that some of these excursions will go more perfectly then they do. There is this trail that you take that leads you to a clearing with grass and beautiful scenery, I had full intentions of making it to that spot but I forget that I have children four and under that are content just walking a little and playing in the mud. Kate found some leaves and Sam found something every three inches and they were as happy as can be. I did save a butterfly from drowning and I think Kate thinks I'm a hero or maybe I just think I am a hero. I've done this walk once when I was single with my roommates and once when we were freshly married and it is so cool and I just want to do it again. This is our second attempt with kids. These sweet little children of mine go along with a lot of our schemes and I always forget that the rules have changed a little bit. Anyway, fall is cool.
