Although we love preschool, I am finding that on the down days Kate wants to keep up with the craftiness that preschool brings. Which is cool, but gone are the lazy summer days that I enjoy.
She's not old enough to make stuff on her own, so to the craft box I go filling the void that her teacher fills on Tuesdays & Thursdays.
One day, I assessed the various craft items in our house and found some popsicle sticks. I did some internet research and found an idea for these bird houses they called for the taller milk cartons but this was all I had.

We filled the bird house with bird seed and watched all day. Not one single bird, I must have missed the memo that maybe the birds are flying South right now. The only eventful thing that happened was that I caught two little boys trying to knock them down and I yelled (true mama bear style) "Hey! Don't do that!" The boys took off running. It's funny to think that I am a mom and that those kids were scared of me for a second.
Kate has also been requesting "class" again on preschool down days. Class was invented last year when I thought that she might not be able to do preschool. It's only half way done and I thought she had forgotten about it, so I guess I have to finish it.
I love that school inspires creativity for children, I just forgot that I have to be quick and think on my toes and be creative when the the creative bug bites little Kate.
Which I will end my post with a Thank You to the internet for craft ideas.

Dang girl you are good, and so is Kate might I add. Those are great projects. Liam and Kate are a lot alike. We are always doing crafts. I found some really good books at the library that have helped me ( I usually don't get internet time and its too hard to surf on my phone lol) I wish we could do crafts together. I love you idea for a letter of the day. I have a calendar thing for Liam and we do days/months/weather etc, but I love your idea. I have to admit too I can be bad about doing it everyday. Its hard to find a routine. Oh well, Kate is lucky to have such a smart momma!
