Sam likes to create things.
Here he is in his rocket ship.
He has got this mind that always amazes me.
He wanted this picture to look like it was the inside of his body.
Making clay things with Grandpa Doug.
Did I say that Sam likes to create things?
He loves school.
There are a lot of things that drive him crazy about school but he loves being with friends and doing projects.
He's not afraid of germs.
He will put his mouth right on the nozzle of the drinking fountain and not think twice about it.
He's not totally sold on soccer, but he's down if it means dog piles with his friends.
He absolutely loves his big sister.
But then they absolutely drive each other crazy, which drives Mom crazy.
My favorite part of the day is picking them up from school and seeing them standing there by each other waiting for me. They know they need each other. It's hard.
He will sometimes take my phone to play on it and I will find a large amount of selfies on it.
These are from in the car on a road trip.
He loves to draw.
Between him and his sister, we go through paper pretty fast around here. He gets a lot of compliments for his art skills at school and his teacher says some of the kids try to copy what he does. It's fun to go through his folder and see his creations.
He is a patient big brother and sometimes little brother.
He and Millie could sit for hours and talk or not talk, they are kindred spirits. He also tries to be cool when she bosses him around, but even the most patient have their breaking point.
I think he would prefer to sleep alone.
(He probably wouldn't fall out of the bed as much.) But every night these two get scared and no matter how much fighting and hitting and scratching happens in the day, when they fall asleep, that's when I know he really loves her.
Sam is really a delight.
He can say the funniest things and be so easy and then he can be super stubborn. Like the time he didn't want to sit in church so he sat outside on the steps in hot, humid, buggy, summer weather for like a half an hour and when he decided to come in, not a word was said, he just went back in and sat in the pew.
He is also a very logical child and I love his take on things. It's pretty amazing, the things that come out of his mouth.
He can be really helpful when he wants to be and he really loves his family.

I love this kid and love watching him grow up. Even though I want them all to stop growing, I am excited for the little people they will grow up to be.
