An Open Letter
Dear Friends That I Have Made Since I Left California The First Time in 2008,
Moving around as much as we have can be really hard on a person. When I think about what would have happened if we would have stayed in San Clemente, I 1.) think about all of the growing opportunities we would have missed out on and 2.) I wouldn't have met you. And that makes all these moves worth it. I have met some of the most coolest people and have been able to observe friends in all their awesomeness, which makes me want to be a better person. Key word: "want to." I want to give a shout out to all of the friends that have invited us over to dinner when we were new in an area, that is one of the best ways to feel comfortable in a new place and I am always impressed at the people who are so good about doing that. I want to give a shout out to all the friends that would do playdates with me and my crazy children, to this introverted person, it really meant the world to get a text to see if we wanted to come over. I want to give a shout out to all of the awesome Visiting Teachers I would have that would come every month and just were totally awesome people. There are also the people that would follow the phrase "Observe Then Serve" perfectly. They wouldn't wait for me to say I needed help with each twenty-nine moves that we did, they would just come over or say they are coming over to help with cleaning, dinners, etc. Thanks for all of the friendships that we formed, even though I am horrible at keeping in touch, I cherish the people that I call friends. I am so grateful for all of you that have touched my life for good and am lucky, even if I was only around a year, to know you and consider you my friend. Thanks for showing me what it means to be a great friend and a great person.
Sincerely, Laura
PS: I have met some awesome people before 2008 too, don't worry, you guys are the coolest too.
