Third Time's a ____.

We are moving back to Chicago.

We wanted California.

But realized California wasn't ready for us.

You know who is always ready for us?

Chicago.

It's like those 80's movies (all filmed in Illinois) where the girl spends the whole movie trying to win over the hot, popular boy, but ends up with the boy that isn't as cute or as popular but has been there for her the whole time.

Chicago to us, is the boy that has always been there even when the chips were down and will take you back anyway, California is that really hot guy that you want to punch in the face the whole time but if he wanted to get together, you totally would.

That is a brief explanation of our life in 80's movies terms.
It's way more fun to explain it this way. You can either laugh at life or cry at it and today I am in a laugh at it mood. Kind of.

And if you are wondering, Ryan in my book is of course Jake Ryan or he would make a great Lloyd Dobbler because he would be the type that would stand below my window holding a boombox (he's kind of dramatic) and I am the girl with the braces and neck brace trying to get a drink from the drinking fountain, who probably isn't even listed as an extra in the credits. You know, cause that's just how I roll. And if you know what movie that is, you are an awesome friend to have.

This post was hilarious! I totally know what you mean, I love the 80's movie analogy, except you are not the braces girl you are a total Molly Ringwald! (is the braces girl from Pretty in Pink or 16 Candles? or am I way off, I know I have seen it!)

I have completely forgotten about your blog until Ryan mentioned it on FB. What went wrong with me? I've missed out on so many great reads and laughs. And now, I have the details on the Chicago move. Sad we will miss you in San Clemente this summer. Love you Ski.
