New Year's

For New Year's Eve, Ryan had the day off from work so we thought we'd do some kind of much needed family day trip. We thought that going to see the floats for the Rose Parade in Pasadena would be a great idea, so we loaded the kids in the car and made our trek. But, as we neared the place with only an hour til closing we realized we probably wouldn't get in. The line wrapped around a few city blocks, so we changed our plans, drove down Colorado Blvd to see all of the people already set up at noon for the parade the next day. We ate at a restaurant at the end of Colorado Blvd and decided we would go to Griffith Observatory in Los Angeles instead. As it turns out people do things on New Year's Eve day and the place was packed so we went with plan C and headed to Mann's Chinese Theater in Hollywood. It was packed too, but we were determined to do something that we set out to do. So long story short, here are some pics:

Kate comparing her hand to Shirley Temple's handprint.

We saw that there was a wax museum, so we had to check it out.

We made it home in time to run to the grocery store and get some celebrating essentials and then we rang in the New Year.

The next day we just hung out and in the evening headed to Crystal Cove for a walk.

It was a nice chill New Year's and I'm am really hoping 2014 will be the same, but knowing our family... I'm not so sure about that.
So here's to an eventful, but please not too eventful 2014.
