Free Night at the Museum

Right now at the Art Institute Museum of Chicago they are having free nights for Illinois residents every Thursday night.
They are having a Picasso exhibit so I loaded the kids up and the double wide stroller and met Ryan downtown.

Please pardon the zombie red eyes.

Kate's favorite painting.

Sam's favorite painting.
He actually liked all of the silly faces and wanted to take a picture by all of them. And yes, I accidentally used a flash inside the museum.

Another piece of art Sam wanted to take a picture by, so we stood them together but we learned after this picture that he really wanted to take a picture posed like the elephant. See below.

It was one of the more stressful trips to the city. Parking in the in the parking garage was a good time, then Kate bumped a statue and the alarm went off, and while trying to get a picture of the kids by a Picasso a museum guard said we were too close and that we needed to back away. And it didn't help that the times I was pushing the double wide with two children and one on the way I was getting a lot of looks like "zero population." But besides all of that it was fun.

My favorite part was talking to Kate about a series of bull drawings and their transition from being realistic to being more abstract and Kate said "No, it's the other way around, the last drawings were when he was learning to draw and the first one is when he finally got good at drawing."

It was crazy, but I'm glad we went.
