Oh yeah, we also stopped and checked out the Santa Barbara Mission, where the ghost of the Indian girl from that book, "Island of the Blue Dolphin" lives.
Oh yeah, also, we ate at this restaurant called "Sambos". It is based on a semi-true story that Gramma Stephens used to tell us kids about a "sambo boy" that runs around a tree so fast when tigers are chasing him that the tigers turn into butter which he ends up putting on his pancakes. They had chocolate chip mini muffins.

Dido on the Solvang culinary fare. We were there a few years ago and I starved all day after my lunch of fatty meat. Kate is such a little chunk-I love it!
you guys are my favorite. but if you move up to santa barbara that will be far too far away. don't do it! by the way, my mom has that "little black sambo" book! her grandma gave it to her when she was little, so funny.
I love the halloween costume idea. Nobody would get it out here because hot dog on a stick doesn't exist...so sad! When are you coming to visit. I was using my cell phone the other day and couldn't help but to think of "the brick"
Solvang . . . I just remember being there with my mom and some how she talked me into an IZOD jacket at some little clothing boutique.
that is the cutest picture of the three of you!
Yeah, my mom has the original black sambo book from when she was little. She used to read it to us all the time, then one day she said no when we asked to read it... we asked why and she said because it said naughty things in it about black people. umm... ok... I was way too young to understand! That's all I remember when I think about that book now.
What a CUTE little family! I wish we lived closer so we could let our babies play together! What a fun family outing too! I am going to be in Hemet Dec 15th- 30th. Will I see you there?
